Daily Bafflements

• Voters approved ballot measures yesterday to raise the minimum wage, in Arkansas, Nebraska, and South Dakota (and maybe also in Alaska).
• A dispatch from the “East Coast Cannabis Business Expo, Educational Conference and Regulatory Summit” turned out to be not nearly as goofy as one would hope. Apparently this “new brand of capitalist” acts just like the old one, with conferencing, hand-shaking, card-exchanging, talk of taxes and malpractice insurance concerns, venture capitalists, and stupid swag.
• Check out Mother Jones on the special-interest “dark money” that has been quietly seeping into judicial elections across the country.
• Today in Bespoke: hotels, knives, a Paddington Bear/Rolls Royce #brand mashup, and a regulatory regime for digital currencies. We really don’t make this stuff up.
