J.C. Hallman is the author of a collection of stories and six books of nonfiction. His most recent book, which draws in part on previous work in The Baffler, is Say Anarcha: A Young Woman, a Devious Surgeon, and the Harrowing Birth of Modern Women’s Health. He lives in Tulsa.
