Suja Sawafta is a Palestinian American writer and critic. She is currently Assistant Professor of Arabic Studies at the University of Miami and is at work on her first book on the Saudi-Iraqi novelist Abdulrahman Munif, most famously known for his epic novel Cities of Salt. Her writing has appeared in Vogue Arabia, The Emancipator/Boston Globe, Grazia Middle East, ArabLit Quarterly, Middle East Monitor, and elsewhere.
