Mary Margaret Alvarado


Mary Margaret Alvarado was an Iowa Arts Fellow and Provost’s Post-Graduate Writing Fellow at the University of Iowa, where she received her MFA, and a finalist for the Gardner Howard Foundation Fellowship from Brown. Her work has been published in VQR, The Georgia Review, The Kenyon Review, The Boston Review, Outside magazine, The Point, The Rumpus, The Iowa Review, and elsewhere, and thrice noted in The Best American. She is the author of Hey Folly (Dos Madres) and Chrome of Iris (Burnside Review) a book and chapbook of poems, and American Weather (NewLights Press), a book-length essay. She lives in Colorado.
