Kristen Gallagher’s books include 85% True/minor ecologies (Skeleton Man 2017), Grand Central (Troll Thread 2016) and We Are Here (Truck Books 2011). Her unpublished nonfiction work “Six Years in Florida” was a finalist for the 2020 Essay Press Creative Nonfiction contest selected by Jill Magi and Ching-In Chen. Recent work includes a collaboration with Tara Nelson mining the very large, underexplored collection of lantern slides at the Visual Studies Workshop in Rochester NY, and a collaboration with Human Scale, “hs341: 85% True/minor ecologies,” an infinitely generative audio piece based on a collection of recorded natural sounds from Florida USA, available through the Human Scale app. Other writing appears in Social Text, 6×6, Gauss PDF, Distantia, and Jacket2. She lives in Queens, New York.
