Alex de Waal

Alex de Waal is the Executive Director of the World Peace Foundation and a research professor at the Fletcher School, Tufts University. He is an expert on the Horn of Africa, humanitarian issues, and famine. He has worked on Ethiopia and its neighbors since the mid-1980s and is the author of The Real Politics of the Horn of Africa: Money, war and the business of power (Polity Press 2016).
