Daily Bafflements

• All San Francisco’s chickens have come home to roost! The rapidly gentrifying and tech-savvy city has invented an app to report homeless people.

While the city maintains the app is not meant to criminalize homelessness, the San Francisco Coalition On Homelessness called the city’s app ‘silly’ and ‘counter-productive,’ suggesting that it was made for residents to ‘complain about each other.’

They’ve called it “Snitch.” We’ll say no more.

• Feeling unfortunate, underprivileged, misunderstood? Pack it in! By now you should know that the truly deserving of sympathy are pseudonymous investment bankers. “Junior employees are treated as expendable commodities, not future leaders of their respective firms,” writes a certain Jim. Our condolences, Jim . . .

• After last night’s Democratic debate, you might be wondering what Clinton meant when she said Snowden’s files “fell into the wrong hands.” Whose hands ? Did she mean . . . the public’s? (Thanks, The Intercept!)

• “When people say ‘Oh, people don’t vote,’ my response is, why would you vote?” says Larry Lessig, who may not have won the 1% support necessary to debate, but is sure giving interviews.
