Americans divided on impeaching Trump, gerrymandering, and dubious mergers

• “Gerrymandering, in a word, is why American democracy is broken,” claims The Washington Post, echoing David Daley, in his Q&A with Baffler associate editor Dave Denison. “Eight of the ten most gerrymandered districts in the United States were drawn by Republicans.”

• Polls suggest the American electorate is experiencing buyers’ remorse.

• Elon Musk update: he’s still out there! Specifically, he’s taking a break from defending Rex Tillerson, and in Dubai, talking about how we have to become one with our machines in order to survive in the AI future that he’s engineering.

• Horror of horrors, the election has made the American worker less “productive,” reports The Atlantic. “According to a study from McKinsey, workplace incivility was already on the rise,” it continues, and “the idea of not bringing politics to work . . . clashes with another increasingly popular doctrine of modern work—the idea of bringing your ‘whole self’ to the workplace.”
